After its release the number of crimes got increased like teens raping teens, people beating homeless and especially gang crimes across the nation (U.S.A) The story goes like this, the main character Alex played by Malcom MacDowell is a young punk who leads a small gang of thug who take part in horrific crime scenes. Eventually Alex is captured and subjected to behavior modification therapy sessions. Due to a large number of increasing crimes Kubrick got death threats and he decided to stop the U.K release of the film.
2.) Freaks
Also known as the 1932 terror. Trapeze artist Cleopatra marries and magician when she realizes that he holds a big fortune. Cleopatra then tells her lover the strong man to murder Hans (the magician) to inherit all his wealth. But when Hans's friends got to know about it they became extreme angry and did not appreciate this act. But why was this film so controversial? Coz the director used the real freaks from circus which was not accepted by the audience at all. As it would definitely disturb the mindset of the freaks working in the circus. As a result freaks was banned in over 30 countries and even the original version of the film was call off.
3.) The Last House On The Left
The Last House On the Left was the debut of director Wes Craven into the film industry. So the story goes like this. 2 girls while on a trip to a concert eventually go looking for drugs. Unfortunately what they find is not marijuana but a gang of sadistic people who raped and killed the girls. Eventually the convicts head out and stay a night at the girl's parents house. It does not take too long for the parents to realize that who these people were and then they react the same to the convicts. After all this the film ran into controversy and was not liked by the audience at all. In one of the scenes, one of the two girls was forced to urinate on herself. This movie is basically based on a book named 'The Virgin Spring' which is a raped and revenge story.
4.) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
It is loosely based on real life events. The films features the iconic leather face man who wears the skin mask. The story starts when a group of teens make a stop at a farmhouse, Not only the girls found that man brutal but also gets to meet his family who were extremely ugly and frightening. This story was not banned because of the man who shows extreme violence but due to the fact that it had a word 'CHAINSAW' in it as it has told to be based on the murder of a man in the 1950's. Regardless of its controversial status THE TEXAS CHAINSAW was the biggest horror films in the U.K.
5.) I Spit On Your Grave
A girl was raped brutally by a group of boys and was buried in a grave. The story took some serious turn when the girl returned from her grave and took revenge from all the boys who raper her. She used some of the most brutal ways of killing those boys which was not seen by the audience at all.
